How to Start Planning Your Disney Vacation

This is going to be one of your favorite vacations. Disney World has been named the Happiest Place on Earth for a reason. The options on the other hand are endless. This blog will help guide you through all the decisions you will have to make. Remember everything is changeable until you are 30 Days from check-in. This allows you to add or modify things after you booked them.

Hotels

The first thing you want to start with is figuring out if you want to stay on site or off-site.

Value of Staying at On-Site Hotels

  • Extra Magic Hours – Each day, one of the parks offers extended hours, so you can enjoy select attractions, including Character Greetings with some beloved Disney Princesses and other kid-friendly attractions. Valid park admission and Resort ID required.
  • Early Access to Disney FastPass+ planning – Reserve some Disney FastPass+ attractions, shows and more up to 60 days before you arrive! Make planning your day with your preschoolers easier with advance reservations through Disney FastPass+ on some of their favorite attractions. Plus, you’ll receive complimentary MagicBands and much more!
  • Complimentary Transportation and Standard Parking throughout Walt Disney Resort – Come and go from the parks as you please during regular park hours (valid theme park admission required). You also receive complimentary motorcoach transportation between Orlando International Airport and your Disney Resort hotel via Disney’s Magical Express service.
  • Entertaining Amenities at Disney Resorts Hotels – Make a splash at pools with slides, explore activity programs and discover kid-friendly restaurants. Your family vacation doesn’t end when you leave the parks!

 3 Different Types of On-site Hotels:

Value resorts offer the best value for your money but they only have room for 4 people. A value resort is a value resort. You access your room from outside the hotel and they are equipped with 2 full size beds. If your plan is to close down the park every day and not stay at your resort these are perfect for you.

Moderate resort is a step up from a value resort. You now enter your room from inside the hotel and are upgraded to 2 queen size beds and above. This allows up to 5 people to a room and have themed rooms available.

Deluxe resorts are the top of the line hotels. Discover the comfort and convenience of staying at a Disney Deluxe Resort. Tickets

Now that you know where you want to stay, next you want to figure out how many nights you want to stay and how many days you want to spend at the parks. Disney World has 4 separate theme parks and 2 water parks.

You also want to know if you want to stay at one park all day or Park Hop. Park hopper ticket allows you to travel from park to park so you can catch certain events or spend half a day at one and finishing the day at another.

Dining

So now you know how long you want to go now you want to figure out how you want to eat. When you book a dining plan it is good for every night you stay at the hotel. You will be issued credits and can use these credit whenever you want. There are three options for your dining plan Quick Service, Sit Down Service, and Deluxe Sit Down Service. If you are planning some sit down meals we will discuss your options around 200 day mark so I can have your list to make your reservations at the 180 day mark.

 

FastPasses

Disney FastPass service allows you to reserve access to select Walt Disney World theme park attractionsentertainment and Character Greetings in advance. There is no additional cost to use FastPass service―it is included with your theme park admission. Curious how to plan your FastPasses?

 

Rider Swap

f a child does not meet the height requirement or a Guest does not wish to board a particular attraction, no problem! With Rider Switch, one adult can wait with the non-rider (or riders) while the rest of the party enjoys the attraction. When the other adult returns, they can supervise the non-riding Guests, and the waiting adult can board the attraction without having to wait in the regular line again!

Rider Switch is available at select attractions at all 4 Walt Disney World Resort theme parks.

Memory Maker

Memory maker is a great addition to anybody’s vacation. This allows you to get photos at every photographer and even get to keep your ride photos. If you are traveling with numerous groups, you will be able to link your account with the others. This allows them to use your memory maker without them buying it for themselves. How to Book

You have 2 separate ways you can book a Disney vacation. You can book the trip yourself thru Disney or you can book your trip thru an authorized Disney vacation planner. Why would you use a travel agent?
